WPW is making moves. We’re building an Android and iOS app as we speak. Hoping for a 2016 launch. It looks amazing so far. If you want it as soon as it drops, sign up for our e-mail list.
We’ve literally sent one e-mail to that list, so we don’t abuse it.
Now for the main event, our top 15 Instagram posts of 2016:
#15 Manny Machado’s Rawlings Gold Glove Gamer
Machado has been wearing this in-game, and it looks like teammate Adam Jones didn’t want to feel left out and got his own (via @ballglovesonline):
It seems that Rawlings is flirting with the idea of offering this metallic gold, and even offers it RIGHT NOW on the welting and binding on their custom glove builder.
#14 Slugger USA Bat – Moonboot Customs
A photo posted by WhatProsWear.com (@whatproswear) on
One thing we know is that WPW fans love America. Patriotism always plays. @moonbootcustoms‘s real name is Michael Rockett, and Rockett plays for the indy ball Atlantic League York Revolution. He’s also a really talented artist—he made this bat for himself on the 4th of July—his account deserves a look.
#13 Bryce Harper’s UA Deception DT – Nomad Customs
Not even Bryce can resist the custom paintjob. Nomad Customs was really pumped to get this job and you can tell by his excellent work that he poured everything he had into it. The Deception DT hasn’t been seen much since the Harper One, but these deserve a long look.
#12 Gerardo Parra’s Trout 2 – 303 Customs
A photo posted by WhatProsWear.com (@whatproswear) on
Aside from Parra, Brandon Finnegan, Blake Snell, Jon Gray and Brandon Barnes are a few other happy @303custom_cleats customers. These paint-splattered Trout 2s were one of the People’s favorites, but 303 makes it even higher on this list (read on).
#11 Xander Bogaerts’ New Balance All-Star Pack
One of my biggest regrets about not making the Bigs… never getting one of these bad-ass packages filled with custom swag. I want one so bad I can taste it. Xander Bogaerts made his first All-Star appearance and got treated to the 3000v3 “Admiral’s Pack” in white, which you can get here.
#10 Javy Baez Lebron 10 Soldier – Custom Cleats, Inc.
A photo posted by WhatProsWear.com (@whatproswear) on
Not my speed, but clearly a big hit amongst the sneakerheads. These are made possible by Custom Cleats.
#9 USA Rawlings PRO-MERICA
These things sold out in a hurry.
#8 Josh Donaldson’s Nike Box o’ Swag
A photo posted by WhatProsWear.com (@whatproswear) on
Like Bogaerts, Donaldson got styled at the ASG in San Diego. Beating a dead horse, but I want every single pair of Trout turfs ever made. Shop those here.
#7 Robby Cano’s 4th of July NB’s – Mache
Mache is one of the Godfathers of cleat customization. He only works with the best players, like Cano, and his work is world class. These are the 4040v3s. Check his page here.
#6 Corey Seager at the Derby
A photo posted by WhatProsWear.com (@whatproswear) on
Corey Seager couldn’t step onto the field for the Derby without getting WPW a look at that Derby swag. Seager showed up in a big way that day, hitting 15 bombs in the first round, though he ran into the proverbial buzzsaw, Mark Trumbo, who hit like 1,000 home runs and still lost to Stanton. Shop the Trout 3 Luminescent collection here.
#5 Brandon Barnes’ 2K Filth – 303 Customs
Told you 303 would be back. These are really simple, and it just goes to show you that its not always the LOUD designs that work best. The 2K Filth can be customized here.
#4 Jon Hunton’s Nike USA Cleats – Moonboot Customs
A photo posted by WhatProsWear.com (@whatproswear) on
When we first posted these I thought they might break the internet. So dirty. So heroic. Hunton plays in the Atlantic League with @moonbootcustoms and rocked some of the best 4th of July cleats ever made.
#3 Manny Machado ASG
A lot happening in this one. Stance Socks stands out, though I have to say I think Machado’s get-up is a little sloppy. Socks might be sick, but they don’t match. At all. Hat is weird (not his fault). The Jordan 4’s though…
#2 Salvy’s ASG Gear
@salvadorp13’s @rawlingssg gear is ??? #asg #asg2016 #rawlings #wpw
A photo posted by WhatProsWear.com (@whatproswear) on
Salvy always scores well with the WPW judges. The fact that he’s on the Royals is fitting because Rawlings treats him like a king.
This is based off the Rawlings Velo set which you can shop here.
#1 Nina Agdal Sockswag on 100
The full story is that WPW had a press pass for the Celebrity Softball game. I think there were other players aside from Nina Agdal on the field, but I didn’t see them. Then I noticed she was tucking her pants into her socks and the world needed to know. Though we all know the reason this got so many likes, and its not Nina’s sockswag.
If you are looking for that in stores, you will not find it. It is God-given.
In related news, triceps:
And I’d be remiss not to mention Jennie Finch, who knows exactly how to wear a uniform. This also brings up the most important question ever posed on WPW airwaves:
Jennie the ballplayer?
