Josh Donaldson
Josh Donaldson is a third baseman that can flat out rake. The product of Auburn has wowed with his power for years. Donaldson broke into the league as a catcher but transitioned to third at the beginning of the 2012 season. This transition has been a successful one. Donaldson has made some iconic plays at the hot corner that can be overshadowed by his bat. The 2015 AL MVP has Silver Sluggers, a Hank Aaron Award, and multiple All Star Game appearances. Donaldson’s 2015 season cemented him as an elite offensive player. With a .297 average, 122 runs scored, 41 home runs, and 123 RBIs, Donaldson amassed a whopping 8.8 WAR-the most in Blue Jays history.
Donaldson has a swagger about him on the field that is hard to match. His Nike spikes are a prime example. He has worn a variety of different models all in a colorway that perfectly pairs with the rest of his uniform. He has even gone so far to have basketball shoes converted to baseball cleats-a growing trend at the MLB level. Most would say that Donaldson’s bat is his money maker. He swings a Marucci JD20 maple bat-his own custom model. His look at the plate is completed by various Nike batting gloves and a Marucci elbow guard. Josh Donaldson’s gloves have always been eye-catching. He began his career using a Rawlings Heart of the Hide PRONP5-most often in black with royal blue laces. Donaldson has since transitioned to Marucci and his leather got flashier. He uses various Marucci I-web gloves in combinations of blue, black, and red.
