One of Ja Morant’s many Nike Basketball sneakers worn during his rookie season was the Nike Zoom Freak 1.
The Giannis Antetokounmpo signature shoe features multidirectional traction, which is particularly aggressive at the pinky toe section. The traction extends up in this area with rubber clips, similar to the midsole on the Kyrie signature line. This was done to aid with long-striding euro steps for players like Giannis. For cushioning, the Freak 1 features two stacked Zoom Air units in the heel for extra bounce when landing.
A colorway that Ja rocked in 2019-20 was the multicolor “Roots/ What The” version, which can be found HERE.
