The rookie phenom then went behind his back for the no look dime pass to Jaren Jackson Jr. Unfortunately, JJJ couldn’t finish and ruined the assist. The crowd oohed and ahhed nonetheless, witnessing the potential of Morant.
The sneakers Ja busted out for this moment was the Nike Zoom Freak 1. The Giannis Antetokounmpo signature shoe features multidirectional traction, which is particularly aggressive at the pinky toe section. The traction extends up in this area with rubber clips, similar to the midsole on the Kyrie signature line. This was done to aid with long-striding euro steps for players like Giannis. For cushioning, the Freak 1 features two stacked Zoom Air units in the heel for extra bounce when landing.
