After two arduous years filled with surgeries and bust labeling, Joel Embiid finally debuted on October 26, 2016. JoJo rocked the adidas Light Em Up 2 for this game and the entire 2016-17 season. This shoe features the budget-friendly cushioning system called Bounce, which as the name suggests gives a responsive feel with every step.
Like his shoes, Embiid bounced forward in a big way, dropping 20 points and grabbing 7 boards in his debut against the OKC Thunder.
Embiid would later hit his stride in January with a dominant stretch of games leading to an Eastern Conference Player of the Week award. Sadly, JoJo wound up with a meniscus tear in his left knee, in addition to other injuries that shut him down for the rest of the 2016-17 season.
