Joel Embiid
Joel Embiid’s early career thus far can best be described as a roller coaster. As the number 3 pick in the 2014 NBA Draft, the hype was real for a continuously tanking Philadelphia 76ers team in need of a spark. Embiid looked to spiral downward after surgery on his right foot led to a lost 2014-15 season, and a setback causing him to miss the 2015-16 season as well. Since that time, Embiid has quickly become a revelation on and off the court, while bringing hope to a fanbase wanting to “trust the process.”
Whether he is unleashing post moves, high-arching three-pointers, or a rant on a woman that curved him, Joel “The Process” Embiid is ready to provide endless entertainment to NBA fans across the world.
While Embiid’s game (and mouth) are loud and out-of-the-norm, his footwear has been relatively tame in his short NBA career. Joel signed with adidas the month after being drafted, likely due to wearing the three stripes at his time playing for the Kansas Jayhawks. In 2018, he got the bag by signing with Under Armour. The contract made him the highest-paid center in the NBA.
