Kobe’s first sneaker worn as a pro was the adidas EQT Top Ten 2000… Sort of. After being drafted by the Los Angeles Lakers and signing with adidas, Bryant appeared in a three stripes ad in the adidas EQT Top Ten 2000.
Much like it’s predecessor, the adidas EQT Top Ten 2010, this shoe was a precursor to the “Feet You Wear” technology that provided a barefoot feel. While bulky by today’s standards, this shoe was lower to the ground and offered flexibility that contrasted other bulky shoes from its era.
Like other historic adidas shoes linked to Kobe, this style was a part of the “Vino” pack that released in 2016 to celebrate Kobe’s farewell season and overall career, featuring cork on the upper.
The adidas EQT Top Ten 2000 is available at StockX, GOAT, and Flight Club.
