One of Kobe’s first signature shoes, the KB8 was a continuation of the “Feet You Wear” technology that shaped the midsole and outsole to allow your feet to move naturally. The shoes also featured the Torsion system; a plastic arch support piece that alleviated any straining from extra motion. The cushioning used is adiPrene, which helps less shock when running and landing.
The shoe first released in 1997 with Kobe’s star on the rise, and has retroed multiple times after Kobe left for Nike under the changed name of the adidas Crazy 8. The three stripes released a Vino, wine-colored Crazy 8 in 2016 to commemorate Kobe’s retirement at the time, making a nod to one of Kobe’s nicknames.
