Zion Williamson was often heralded as the future of the NBA, so it was fitting that he wore the future of footwear in the Nike Adapt BB shoes.
Zion often wore signature Nike sneakers in his year at Duke. This includes Kyries, PGs, Kobes, and LeBrons. For one game, Zion and fellow Blue Devil R.J. Barrett rocked the self-lacing Adapt BB. The monumental basketball sneaker was the third to feature the self-lacing tech, after the Nike MAG and the HyperAdapt silhouettes. The Adapt BB was basketball specific, however, and is noticeable lighter than its predecessors.
The idea of the self-lacing sneaker is to have the perfect fit for certain situations in a game. If you needed to relax your feet during a timeout, loosen the bad boys with the Adapt App. You can preset your preferred tightness with the app for both feet, then the motor and gear inside the sole will adjust any time you stick your feet in the shoes. If you need a quick adjustment, two buttons on the lateral side assists in tightening and loosening the lace loops.
The shoes were painstakingly tested as you can see in the graphic below:
Zion ended up dropping a highlight dunk in his lone game in the sneaker against Georgia Tech, which you view in his moments section.
You can find the Nike Adapt BB at StockX, Flight Club, and Stadium Goods.
