OK, now check out the cleats. adidas Boost Icon 2 that you’ll probably see on adidas guys around the league tonight, though native Puerto Rican Carlos Correa won’t be in the lineup tonight. Its a shame because Correa was gonna go off for Clemente, who is a nothing less than a God in his home country, Puerto Rico.
adidas has a talent for these throwback-type cleats. The creativity is great and the message on these is even better.
Clemente is so revered, both for his legendary play and even more prodigious humanitarian work, that Carlos Correa and many others believe that Clemente’s number 21 should be retired across baseball—the highest compliment an athlete could ever receive, reserved for the one and only Jackie Robinson.
