One of the retro J’s that Jimmy Butler wore while signed to the Jordan Brand was the Air Jordan 5.
The AJ5 design was crafted after fighter planes, with designer Tinker Hatfield comparing the flight and ability to come out of nowhere to Michael Jordan’s game. In the same sense, the shoes match Leonard’s quiet demeanor and sneaky hops. The Jordan 5 boasts classic Air Max technology in the heel for impact protection. It also introduced iconic detailing that carried over to future sneakers. This includes reflective (3M) materials that light up with a flash of light, as well as a lace lock to help secure your foot quickly.
Jimmy Buckets notably wore the “Raging Bull Red Suede” colorway while with the Bulls and the “Quai54” with the Timberwolves.
You can find the Air Jordan 5 at StockX, GOAT, Flight Club, and Stadium Goods.
