One of the older sneakers worn during Luka Doncic’s rookie season was the Nike KD 5 Elite Shoes.
Originally released in 2013, the Nike KD 5 Elite added premium features to the original KD 5 for playoff time. The Zoom Air unit in the heel was larger and caged to provide more bounce in that area. Flywire strands were added to the synthetic upper for a tighter fit. The biggest improved was in the support. The plastic external heel cup was upgraded to carbon fiber. That material was used on the shank plate as well. Carbon fiber adds lightweight durability and aids in containing the foot.
