A lesser known sneaker that Michael Jordan rocked in his sophomore season was the Air Jordan 1.5.
Like the name suggests, the shoe takes the leather upper from the Air Jordan 1 and lops it on the sole of the Air Jordan 2. This “Frankenstein” sneaker was made alongside other mishmash sneakers to see what was most comfortable for Michael. This after MJ returned from a foot injury that sidelined him for most of the 1985-86 season. Because of this history, the 1.5 is alternatively dubbed the “Air Jordan 1 The Return” by the Jordan Brand.
Michael notably dominated the league-leading Boston Celtics in the first round of the 1986 Playoffs in this sneaker.
You can find the Air Jordan 1.5 at StockX, GOAT, and Flight Club.
