One of the first milestones of Paul George’s early career was his Most Improved Player award win in 2013. Before the 2012-13 season, George was a role player behind the star of the Pacers in Danny Granger. During this year, Granger was out for most of the season allowing PG to increase his scoring average to 17.4 points per game.
The shoe that he wore for most of this season was the Nike Hyperdunk 2012. This shoe featured a perfected version of Lunarlon, having previously used a less durable version in basketball called Lunar foam. The eye-catching feature is the exposed Flywire strands, which helped secure the upper to your foot when lacing up.
George really showed out after his Most Improved regular season, as PG became a household name in the playoffs. George’s Pacers eventually matched up with LeBron James’ Miami Heat in the Eastern Conference Finals. The marquee games may not have gone the Pacers way, but Paul did memorably posterize Chris “Birdman” Andersen in game 2.
You can find the Nike Hyperdunk 2012 at StockX, GOAT, and Stadium Goods.
