After being drafted 10th overall in the 2010 NBA Draft, Paul George made his Indiana Pacers and league debut on October 27, 2010 while wearing the original Nike Zoom Hyperfuse model. George rocked the basic team shoe much like other future all-stars like Steph Curry, James Harden, and Giannis Antetokounmpo.
The sneaker was a game-changer at the time as it strayed away from the heavy leather builds in basketball shoes in place of lighter, more durable plastic composite material. This material fused a base layer to support the foot, a mesh later to help with breathability, and a tough plastic layer to withstand the rigors of the game.
PG started his career in the understated Hyperfuse shoes with equally understated stats, at least compared to the other rookies like John Wall, DeMarcus Cousins, and Blake Griffin. George ended the year as the 8th leading scorer on an Indiana Pacers squad led by Danny Granger and Darren Collison.
The Nike Zoom Hyperfuse is currently unavailable at retailers.
