On the biggest stage in basketball, Steph Curry won his 3rd NBA championship while rocking the Under Armour Curry 5 shoes.
Led by designer Dave Dombrow who worked on many of Steph’s past designs, the Curry 5 went away from the previous high-top/mid-top versions and started the shoe lower. This along with an stripped down Anafoam upper allowed the shoe to be lighter. This change also coincided with the public’s waning interest in high-top basketball shoes for casual use, as the lower cut appeals more for spring and summer seasons.
The shoe officially dropped on 3/14, which happens to be both Steph Curry’s birthday as well as Pi Day – with a namesake Pi Day black colorway releasing first.
You can find the Under Armour Curry 5 at StockX, Stadium Goods, Eastbay, and Foot Locker.
