The reselling site will outfit another youngster with this new deal with Rui Hachimura. This is in partnership with Rui’s sponsor Jordan Brand, who signed the Japanese born hooper in 2019.
The Washington Wizards rookie will work closely with GOAT on rare Jordan sneakers and outfits for the remainder of the season. GOAT will also outfit Hachimura for the 2020 Olympic Games as he hopes to medal with the Japanese national team.
“Being a part of the GOAT family is very exciting,” Rui said after being signed. “I grew up watching basketball and have been a fan of sneakers since I was a kid. GOAT not only gives me access to new releases, but also sneakers from the past – sneakers that I wasn’t able to get as a kid. I’m looking forward to elevating my collection over the next few years to show off my style.”
GOAT co-founder and CEO saw the new deal as a global play for the brand. “In addition to being one of the most promising rookies, Rui’s influence in Japan and greater Asia Pacific is massive. We look forward to supporting him on a global scale.”
Hachimura joins global ambassador Kyle Kuzma as GOAT endorsers.
Since the partnership was signed, Hachimura has rocked the Air Jordan 34 heavy on-court. His tunnel sneakers thus far have included the Air Jordan 3 and 1.
