The sneakers Damian Lillard debuted in for his rookie season was the adidas Rose 773 shoes.
At the time, Derrick Rose was one of the most popular basketball players in the world. The three stripes gave Rose a 9-figure contract, and tried to capitalize on his popularity with signature and team shoes. The Rose 773 falls under the latter, as the team shoe was more affordable than the regular adidas D Rose line. The name itself relates to the area code of Chicago, which happens to be Derrick Rose’s hometown.
The Rose 773 is equipped with a SprintWeb toe overlay for added strength in the area. A SprintFrame chassis added support, while Rose’s signature heel 3-stripe branding showed signature adidas branding. Lillard played his first game of the 2012-13 season in the Rose 773, and continued to do so for the rest of his Rookie of the Year winning campaign.
Damian Lillard’s adidas Rose 773 shoes are currently unavailable at retailers.
