Damian Lillard Has Historic First NBA Game in the adidas Rose 773 Shoes

The lights were bright in Portland, as all eyes were on the new look Los Angeles Lakers. The addition of Steve Nash and Dwight Howard had publications thinking “this is going to be fun” for the 2012-13 season. On the opposing side was the Portland Trail Blazers and relatively unknown rookie Damian Lillard. The point guard impressed at the draft combine and shot up to number 6 in the 2012 NBA Draft. This after graduating Weber State as a senior. Now he was facing a two-time MVP in his first game ever.

While there weren’t emphatic highlights, the Oakland-born guard didn’t disappoint. Lillard played sound basketball with sharp dime passes and swished jumpers. Lillard finished the game with the W, alongside 23 points and 11 assists. Dame also joined Oscar Robertson and Isiah Thomas as the only players in NBA history to record at least 20 points and 10 assists in their debuts.

The footwear worn for this historic game was the adidas Rose 773. This shoe is equipped with a SprintWeb toe overlay for added strength in the area. A SprintFrame chassis added support, while Rose’s signature heel 3-stripe branding showed signature adidas branding. Lillard played his first game of the 2012-13 season in the Rose 773, and continued to do so for the rest of his Rookie of the Year winning campaign.

Damian Lillard’s adidas Rose 773 shoes are currently unavailable at retailers.
