This highlight play proves you can’t bring that weak (stuff) into the paint with Anthony Davis on the other team.
The Cavs play started with Jordan Clarkson cutting baseline, easily getting past his defender. Clarkson was ready to pack it after a quick gather, but Anthony Davis’ 7’6″ wingspan helped snatch the ball away easily. The momentum forced Davis out of bounds, with the ball trickling to Ante Zizic for the easy layup. Or at least, that’s what Zizic thought was gonna happen. Davis somehow made up ground while backpedaling to swat said weak (stuff) to the ground, caroming for a Pelicans rebound.
The sneakers Davis was wearing in this highlight was the Nike Kobe AD, which dropped in 2018. This was a departure for Anthony who typically wore bulkier, more supportive footwear. As the signature name suggests, the Kobe AD is a guard shoe, featuring a lightweight bootie construction. A bouncy Zoom Air unit is also added in the heel for responsiveness.
The navy and red colorway worn in this reel of blocks was a Davis exclusive, but you can find other colorways of the Nike Kobe AD at StockX, Stadium Goods, and Flight Club.
