In a midseason 2017 game between the New York Knicks and New Orleans Pelicans, Anthony Davis recorded one of the most violent dunks in NBA history. The victim: one Ron Baker.
In the second quarter, Davis sat in the corner waiting for an entry pass from a teammate. Before you could even blink, the Brow collected the ball and span past Kristaps Porzingis on his way to the rim. With just one dribble, Davis rose up with Baker running past him, flying a little too close to the sun. Davis’ left elbow collided with Ron’s face in the process of the one-handed dunk. To add insult to injury, the refs called it an and-1 foul on Baker. The dunk was so painful physically and mentally for Baker, he tweeted a picture of his black eye the next day with a caption mentioning his inclusion to SportsCenter’s top 10.
The name of the shoes Davis wore for this moment really matched the highlight: the Nike Air Max Dominate. The budget-friendly model features a durable synthetic upper along with a large Air Max unit for impact protection in the heel.
The red colorway Anthony Davis wore for this game is currently unavailable, but you can find other colorways of the Nike Air Max Dominate at StockX.
