Just when you thought it was safe at the rim, Anthony Davis gets in your grill and removes your two-points from the board.
On this play, Karl-Anthony Towns threw a quick dime pass to Minnesota Timberwolves teammate Taj Gibson. The big man almost immediately went up for the dunk. Davis jumped a bit late to contest, but his long arms made up for the slow reaction. The Brow made his brow seen from there, as he got right in Gibson’s face to swat the potential dunk. Davis blocked the shot straight to the hardwood, allowing his Pelican teammates to collect the rebound.
The sneakers Davis was wearing in this moment was the Nike Kobe AD, which dropped in 2018. This was a departure for Anthony who typically wore bulkier, more supportive footwear. As the signature name suggests, the Kobe AD is a guard shoe, featuring a lightweight bootie construction. A bouncy Zoom Air unit is also added in the heel for responsiveness.
The green, yellow, and purple “NOLA” colorway worn in this play was a Davis exclusive, but you can find other colorways of the Nike Kobe AD at StockX, Stadium Goods, and Flight Club.
