One of the best dunks of the 2020-21 NBA season belonged to a rookie Anthony Edwards, with the Minnesota Timberwolves guard showing all of his hops.
On this play, Guard Jordan McLaughlin picked up his dribble and chucked it in the corner to Edwards. After bobbling the ball, Ant collected himself and darted toward the baseline. Toronto Raptors Forward Yuta Watanabe reacted under the rim and rose up to contest Anthony, who happens to have a 42-inch vertical jump. The youngster completely rose above Watanabe who had to duck under the rim for cover. The ball still wacks Yuta in the head from the sheer force of the throwdown. Edwards falls on top of Watanabe with both crumbling to the hardwood, with the ref calling a blocking foul on the Raptors. Hoop and the harm never seemed more literal, as Anthony admired his work while smiling at the jumbotron before sinking his and-1 free throw.
The shoes Edwards wore for this poster dunk was the adidas Dame 7. This features a mesh upper for lightweight breathability, as well as bouncy Lightstrike cushioning.
You can find the adidas Dame 7 sneaker at StockX and GOAT. The “Day of The Dead” colorway worn in this moment can be found HERE.
