Carmelo Anthony was never known to have hops, but he could still get up there as a 35-year old.
On this play, a full-court pass to Blazers teammate Gary Trent Jr. sparked the fast break against the Golden State Warriors. For reference of Anthony’s time in the league, Melo played against Gary Trent Sr. early in his Nuggets career. Trent Jr. immediately saw the streaking Carmelo and knew to throw the lob. Even at his age, #00 threw down a two-handed jam off the alley-oop.
The sneakers Carmelo rocked for this moment was the Air Jordan XXXIV. The 34th jumpman sneaker features large Zoom Air units in the heel and forefoot to give even more bounce to your step. A cored out pebax plate surrounds these units for lightweight stability. The upper is composed of a lightweight mesh for breathability, with a woven layer adding much needed durability.
Anthony wore the “Amber Rise” colorway, which can be found HERE.
You can find other colorways of the Air Jordan XXXIV at StockX and Dick’s Sporting Goods.
