After a trying early season with the Portland Trail Blazers, Damian Lillard put his injury-ridden team on his back while breaking a handful of records.
Lillard had 19 points in the first half against the Golden State Warriors, 3 coming from a shot from the logo near half-court. The Blazers were down 113-110 with less then 20 seconds left in regulation. Lillard had myriad of moves for Alec Burkes before knocking down a game-tying three to get to overtime. Dame would drop 7 more points in overtime, including game-clinching free throws that gave him 61 points. This broke his previous 60-point high from months earlier.
Damian finished with the Blazers franchise record in points and 3-pointers made at 11. He also scored the most points ever on MLK Day, and became only the 6th player in NBA history with multiple 60+ point games (Wilt, Jordan, Harden, Kobe, and Elgin Baylor.)
The sneakers Lillard wore for this dunk was the adidas Dame 6. This utilizes Lightstrike cushioning, which aims to provide the best combination of step-in comfort and lightweight cushioning on the market.
Lillard wore the “Ruthless” volt, black and red colorway, which can be found HERE.
