Devin Booker is mostly known for his sharp shooting, but it was his handles that got him on the highlight reel in this game against the Utah Jazz.
D Book’s Phoenix Suns were up big this game, which was par for the course for the team’s magical 2020-21 season. On this play Devin drove right on Gobert and decided against challenging the shot-blocker at the rim. The Suns Guard retreated to the right corner instead, where he promptly drove again. This time around D Book pulled the ball back between his legs. The French defender kept retreating though, taking two huge steps before turning his head back to the corner. At that point it was too late with Devin already launching his sweet jumper with the obvious result. Swish.
Booker stepped back and turned heads while wearing the Nike Kobe 5 Protro. This “Protro” version updates the older model with new technology. The original Kobe 5 released in 2009 with simple Zoom Air bags in the heel and forefoot. The forefoot unit gets upgraded to Zoom Turbo, with the larger bag being articulated for flexibility and more bounce.
Booker wore a light blue and red PE of the Kobe 5 Protro, which isn’t currently available.
You can find other Nike Kobe 5 colorways at StockX, GOAT, and Flight Club.
