Giannis Antetokounmpo Breaks Ankles in the Nike Zoom Freak 1 Shoes

Giannis Antetokounmpo is known for his long arms and attack-the-rim mentality, but his slick dribbling is the star of this highlight.

The Greek Freak had the ball on an isolation play against Minnesota Timberwolves big Naz Reid. Giannis first threw a hesitation move toward Reid, before dribbling between his legs. The quick shake and bake shook Naz a bit too much, as he toppled to his hands from the move. Before Reid could recover, Antetokounmpo attacked right and nailed a layup through a foul for the and-1 play.

The Nike Zoom Freak 1 that Giannis rocked was designed with Giannis’ rangy movements in mind, with multidirectional traction being particularly aggressive at the pinky toe section. The traction extends up in this area with rubber clips, similar to the midsole on the Kyrie signature line. This was done up to aid with Antetokounmpo’s extremely long-striding euro steps, providing control when Giannis goes side to side. Further performance features include two stacked Zoom Air units in the heel for extra bounce when landing.

Giannis rocked a yellow and orange PE for this moment, but you can find other colors at Dick’s Sporting Goods, StockX, Stadium Goods, and GOAT.
