In a week where James Harden called Giannis Antetokounmpo a 7-feet run and dunker, Giannis put up big numbers against the Charlotte Hornets.
Giannis clearly was motivated this game due to the Beard’s comments. His first back was a jab step, post-up that led to a fadeaway jumper over two defenders. His second bucket required equal skill with a shake and bake dribble leading to an up-and-under and-1 layup. the Greek Freak would eventually take advantage of his tallness though, streaking to the rim on multiple dunks. The most impressive of these rim-rattling slams occurred on a spin move with the foul.
Antetokounmpo’s Bucks got the W with the impressive statline of 41 points, 20 rebounds, and 6 assists.
The Nike Zoom Freak 1 that Giannis rocked was designed with Giannis’ rangy movements in mind, with multidirectional traction being particularly aggressive at the pinky toe section. The traction extends up in this area with rubber clips, similar to the midsole on the Kyrie signature line. This was done up to aid with Antetokounmpo’s extremely long-striding euro steps, providing control when Giannis goes side to side. Further performance features include two stacked Zoom Air units in the heel for extra bounce when landing.
Giannis rocked a black and red colorway, which is currently unavailable.
