Giannis Antetokounmpo got revenge for his disappointing 2015 NBA Dunk Contest finish by posterizing the winner in Zach LaVine.
The Greek Freak finished last during that competition to the much flashier LaVine. On this play, Giannis set a pick for Milwaukee Bucks teammate Khris Middleton before rolling hard. A bounce pass gave Antetokounmpo the a wide lane to the hoop. Zach jumps to contest but Giannis flies right past him. LaVine could only watch in mid-air as the Greek Freak threw down a vicious right-handed slam to the oohs of the United Center crowd.
The Nike Zoom Freak 1 that Giannis rocked was designed with Giannis’ rangy movements in mind, with multidirectional traction being particularly aggressive at the pinky toe section. The traction extends up in this area with rubber clips, similar to the midsole on the Kyrie signature line. This was done up to aid with Antetokounmpo’s extremely long-striding euro steps, providing control when Giannis goes side to side. Further performance features include two stacked Zoom Air units in the heel for extra bounce when landing.
