Giannis Antetokounmpo Jumps From Near Free Throw Line For Block in the Nike Zoom Freak 1 Shoes

No shot is safe with Giannis Antetokounmpo in the vicinity.

On this play, The Milwaukee Bucks turned the ball over with Bulls Guard Zach LaVine leading the fast break. Zach passed to a cutting Lauri Markkanen, who collected the ball for the layup. On his right, Giannis had gathered steam and jumped in front of the free throw line. The Greek Freak’s forward momentum and long arms made it easy to swat the shot off the backboard. The forward motion had Giannis tumbling to the ground, as the home crowd erupted in elation for the freakish play.

The Nike Zoom Freak 1 that Giannis rocked was designed with Giannis’ rangy movements in mind, with multidirectional traction being particularly aggressive at the pinky toe section. The traction extends up in this area with rubber clips, similar to the midsole on the Kyrie signature line. This was done up to aid with Antetokounmpo’s extremely long-striding euro steps, providing control when Giannis goes side to side. Further performance features include two stacked Zoom Air units in the heel for extra bounce when landing.

The colorway worn in this game was a blue “Coming to America” PE, but you can find other colors at StockX, Stadium Goods, and GOAT.
