The award for best almost highlight of goes to… Ja Morant in this wild dunk attempt over Kevin Love.
On this play, Memphis Grizzlies teammate Dillon Brooks was dribbling erratically and had the ball tipped to the top of the three-point line. Ja was there to collect the rock, and instantly went on the attack. Morant unexpectedly jumped from just inside the paint, with Love covering his crotch to take the charge. Ja rose way up and even pushed up from Kevin’s shoulders to add elevation. His right-handed slam hit back iron, but the Internet exploded from this almost dunk. Kevin Love even chimed in after the game on the play:

The sneakers Ja rocked for this game was the Nike Kyrie 5. This style featured a unique Flytrap upper, a design that correlated Kyrie’s Irving to his birthplace of Australia.
