Jayson Tatum had a lot to prove in his first full season without Kyrie Irving. This moment was a first glimpse into the potential of the Boston Celtics swingman.
In this matchup in Los Angeles, the game was tight with under 20 seconds remaining. The Clippers and Paul George were up three and knew to protect from the long-ball. In an instant though, Tatum decided to attack the rim after a dribble hand-off. Jayson just as quickly reversed course with a crossover dribble to the left. The momentum caused PG to fall on his back side. Tatum took just enough time to spot up before George got back on his feet, nailing the game-tying three over the exasperated George.
The sneakers Tatum rocked for this crossover was the Air Jordan XXXIV. The 34th jumpman sneaker features large Zoom Air units in the heel and forefoot to give Tatum even more bounce to his step. A cored out pebax plate surrounds these units for lightweight stability. The upper is composed of a lightweight mesh for breathability, with a woven layer adding much needed durability.
Jayson rocked a yellow and turquoise “Lemonade” colorway for this moment, which is currently unavailable.
