Kawhi Leonard’s explosiveness was on full display in an early season game in 2015 against the Portland Trail Blazers.
The Spurs led in a low-scoring affair in the 3rd quarter when Kawhi did Kawhi things by stealing the ball from guard C.J. McCollum. He raced down the court throwing a one-handed pass to Danny Green, who quickly touch passed back to the charging Leonard. As Mason Plumlee turned around to see who had the ball, the soaring Kawhi tomahawked the ball in his grill as a racing McCollum ducked for cover.
The shoes that Kawhi rocked for this highlight was the Air Jordan XX9, a popular performance shoe that took a lot of the favored qualities of the XX8. This includes the Flight Plate and Unlocked Zoom Air set up in the forefoot, giving the wearer direct access to the responsive Zoom cushioning. The Flyweave upper further provides a sock-like fit, while still being durable enough to last longer than other knitted uppers.
Leonard wore a black and white Spurs player exclusive, but you can find other colorways of the Air Jordan XX9 available at StockX, Flight Club, Stadium Goods, and GOAT.
