Despite his age, Michael Jordan could still drop defenders like in his Chicago Bulls days. Even someone as athletic as prime Vince Carter.
On this play, Mike was matched up with the high-flyer late in the third quarter. MJ dribbled hard to his right and jab stepped into a pull-up jumper from the free throw line. Carter backpedaled and slipped from his momentum, causing him to crumble in a heap. The Washington Wizards home crowd let out a collective “OH” as Jordan’s jumper went through the net.
The shoe Mike wore for this game was the Air Jordan 17 Low. This low-top version cut down the collar height and utilizes a bootie for comfort. The AJ 17 paired Zoom Air in the forefoot with the new Tuned Air unit in the heel to provide different support in different areas of the heel. The traction is made to look like a golf shoe to play up Jordan’s hobby. The chrome clip on the heel provides support, while also taking inspiration from MJ’s love for Aston Martin cars.
