This Michael Jordan highlight really puts the Air in Air Jordan.
On this play against the New Jersey Nets, MJ started off with a slight head fake that froze legend Drazen Petrovic. Michael then jumped just outside the middle of the paint where three Nets players met him. Seemingly clutching the ball three times, Mike slipped the ball past 2 New Jersey big men. After triple clutching, the Chicago Bulls legend snuck a no-look layup at the backboard, that drifted into the basket. The announcers and Chicago crowd went ballistic in disbelief at what they just saw. All hometown color commentator Johnny “Red” Kerr could utter was “Yes! Yes! Yes!”
The sneakers that Michael laced up for this moment was the Air Jordan 6. This features a stylish lace lock that helps prevent the laces from coming loose. A visible Air Max unit is used in the heel for impact protection. Neoprene was added to the lower portion of the tongue to make the shoe lighter and provide a closer fit. The unique upper part of the tongue features large holes and combine with the heel tab to make it easier to slip on the shoes.
