One of Michael Jordan’s most underrated dunks occurred in this game against the Charlotte Hornets.
On this play, MJ predicted a passing lane for a steal from Kelly Tripucka. Mike raced down the court before going in and out on a dribble to juke past Rex Chapman. Jordan then rose up so quickly and high that the defending Tripucka had to admit defeat while mid-air. Kelly ducked for cover as Michael threw down a vicious right-handed poster dunk over the Hornets wing.
The Air Jordan 3 is what Mike wore for this game. This shoe uses exotic elephant print panels to draw eyes and to appease Michael’s request for animal patterns. The Nike Air on the heel was placed to make Nike execs happy to have brand awareness, while the visible Air unit also showed how cushioned the shoe would be.
