Michael Jordan Rocks the Cradle Against Knicks in the Nike Air Ship Shoes

Michael Jordan put on a show in his first ever appearance at Madison Square Garden, including a breakaway dunk.

New Yorkers may not have known Michael Jordan’s name but this matchup quickly changed that. On this play, Mike stormed the passing lane, stealing the ball from New York Knicks Guard Darrell Walker. With no one in front of him, Michael prepared the runway for takeoff. MJ clutched the ball in front of him, then spun his arm to rock the cradle on the slam. The MSG crowd made a raucous, the first of many reactions for Jordan.

The sneakers Michael wore in this game was the Nike Air Ship. Contrary to popular belief, this was the shoe that was banned by the NBA and not the Air Jordan 1. Both sneakers did feature the bright red that had the NBA fining Mike $5000 every game though.

You can find the Nike Air Ship in the Air Jordan New Beginning’s Pack at StockX and GOAT.
