Long before he was drafted by the New Orleans Pelicans, Zion Williamson was coveted by Knicks fans. The hopeless fans felt destined to pick the Duke Forward and got a first taste of Zion at Madison Square Garden.
Williamson’s Blue Devils were playing the undefeated Texas Tech Red Raiders at the Garden. Duke was off to the races early with multiple steals, one from Tre Jones. Pushing the pace, Jones had a two on one break with Zion trailing. Tre quickly threw a floating lob pass at the rim, which Zion easily slammed with two hands. The MSG crowd roared, as Zion got hyped with his teammates. Duke eventually handed Texas Tech their first L, off the back of this 8-0 run finished by Williamson’s dunk.
The sneaker in this highlight was the Nike Kyrie 4. This style features a soft Cushlon foam in the midsole that combines with a bouncy heel Zoom Air unit for a comfortable ride. Mesh and synthetic leathers made up the toe and heel uppers respectively. The main attraction is the traction, which rides up the midsole for secure movement from all angles.
Zion rocked a white and black colorway, which you can find here.
