With Zion Williamson’s combination of speed and power, it’s nearly impossible to stay in front of the New Orleans big man. Maxi Kleber tried on this play and failed miserably.
On this fast break, Lonzo Ball rushed up the court and dropped a one-handed dime to a rushing Zion. Like a tank, Williamson charged towards the Dallas Mavericks Kleber stood his ground and remained vertical. While still going full speed, Zion stopped on a dime and spun left. The nudge and backpedaling completely dropped Kleber, who skidded on the hardwood. With an open lane, Williamson dove towards the rim and threw down the two-handed slam. The Pelicans rookie even hung on the rim to watch the fallen Kleber from the clouds.
The sneakers Zion rocked for this highlight slam was the Air Jordan XXXIV. The 34th jumpman sneaker features large Zoom Air units in the heel and forefoot to give Williamson even more bounce to his step. A cored out pebax plate surrounds these units for lightweight stability. The upper is composed of a lightweight mesh for breathability, with a woven layer adding much needed durability.
Zion rocked the Infrared 23 colorway for this moment, which is available HERE.
