After taking two Ls in heartbreaking fashion, Zion Williamson finally got his vengeance on the UNC Tar Heels team in the ACC Tournament.
The Duke Forward was hyped for the team’s first matchup with his North Caroline rivals, but his Nike PG 2.5 splitting forced Zion to leave after playing just minutes. Williamson then sat out the following UNC matchup due to the same injury. Zion knew he couldn’t miss this tournament game against his school’s bitter rivals, and he proceeded to show out.
The signature post ups, double-clutch layups and breakaway slams were expected from Zion. The 18-year old even busted out a handful of three pointers to round out his game. With Duke down 1, Zion posted up and spun for a contested shot that clanked rim. His tenacity and nose for the ball won out though as his subsequent tip-in ended up sealing the game.
This was Zion’s second game back from his shoe blowout injury and both saw him wear the Nike Kyrie 4. This version was specially reinforced with Coach Krzyzewski sending Nike’s top guys to look into the busted PG sneakers. The swoosh team ended up making numerous Kyrie 4s after their findings.
The Kyrie 4 featured Cushlon and Zoom Air in the heel for a soft, responsive ride. Even with this cushioning, the wearer sits low to the ground for added court-feel. Mesh and leather makes up the upper for breathability as well as a nostalgic touch.
Zion rocked a black Duke PE for this moment, but you can find the Nike Kyrie 4 in other colors at StockX, Flight Club, and Stadium Goods.
