With shades of LeBron James’ Dunkman pose, Zion became an athletic legend before he played a single collegiate/pro game.
Months before Duke tipped off their season, Zion and his Blue Devil teammates were messing around after practice in Toronto. It seemed the squad challenged Zion and R.J. Barrett to see who could dunk from the free throw line. Contrary to popular belief, very few players have jumped behind the free throw line. Even Michael Jordan had a few toes on the free throw line during his famous Dunk Contest.
Zion started sprinting full-court in the lead up and even paused halfway to make it more challenging. Williamson picked up his dribble at the free throw line before cocking back his right hand for a tomahawk dunk. The ball flushed through the rim so easily, that you almost forget that Zion weighs in at 285 pounds. For the 2018-19 season, that would’ve made him the second heaviest player in the NBA.
The sneaker in this highlight was the Nike Kyrie 4. This style features a soft Cushlon foam in the midsole that combines with a bouncy heel Zoom Air unit for a comfortable ride. Mesh and synthetic leathers made up the toe and heel uppers respectively. The main attraction is the traction, which rides up the midsole for secure movement from all angles.
Zion rocked a Blue Devil PE for this moment, but you can find the Nike Kyrie 4 in other colors at StockX, Flight Club, and Stadium Goods.
