A highlight in Zion Williamson’s “you won’t believe it til you see it” reel came against the eventual champion University of Virginia team.
The stakes were high for this February 9th game, which saw the number 2 Duke Blue Devils match up against the number 3 Cavaliers. With Duke leading down the stretch in the 2nd half, Virginia was poised to cut the lead. Ball movement was crisp on one play leading to a wide-open DeAndre Hunter corner three. Wide open was an opinion in this case rather than a fact, as Zion covered the length of the key and the corner. Zion jumped so far and high, he easily and emphatically blocked Hunter’s three into the stands. Duke eventually held on to get the W, on the back of the flying Zion.
The shoes Williamson laced up for this highlight was the Nike LeBron 16. This sneaker featured a full-length Zoom Air unit for a bounce to your step. Zones were sectioned apart on the sole to allow the shoe to flex. A “BattleKnit” upper provided instant step-in comfort, while still being durable for the rigors of the game.
