Alfonzo McKinnie’s ankles didn’t stand a chance against the quick moves of Damian Lillard.
The stage was the 2019 Western Conference Finals, with the Portland Trail Blazers clinging to a 2-point lead in the 3rd. Lillard walked the ball up the court before taking an Al-Farouq Aminu screen to switch McKinnie and Golden State Warriors Guard Klay Thompson. Alfonzo immediately hedged towards Dame, crowding his space. McKinnie overcommitted and Lillard knew it. Damian methodically ran to his right before switching his dribble behind the back to the left. McKinnie’s knees immediately buckled, before falling straight on his butt. From there Dame had all the room in the world to step up and nail the long three.
The shoes Damian Lillard rocked for this game was the adidas Dame 5. Like past Lillard signatures, the shoe boasts full-length Bounce cushioning, as well as a lightweight mesh on the upper. The eye-catcher on the shoe is the lateral “banking barriers” on the lateral side of the Dame 5, which provides support on lateral movements.
