Damian Lillard was on fire against the Sacramento Kings in a February 2018 game that etched Dame in the history books.
The first quarter was like any other with Dame starting the game off with a long three. Before his barrage, he dropped a handful of sweet dimes for easy threes as well. Dame ended the first half with an impressive 28 points. If you do the math, Lillard was about to have a crazy third quarter. In this quarter, Damian started driving to the rim more, weaving through the lane for easy buckets.
The Portland Guard would end up scoring 10 points in the last 3 minutes of the quarter to get his 50 piece. His team’s 3-point lead easily ballooned to 18 within the closing minutes, with no Dame Time needed in the fourth. Only two other players in NBA history at the time had dropped at least 50 in 3 quarters. One was Klay Thompson and the other was Blazers teammate C.J. McCollum, who accomplished the feat 9 days before Dame did.
The sneakers Lillard wore for this monster game was the adidas Dame 4. This signature stuck the formula of Damian’s line, with a small price point ($115) and decent tech. BOUNCE is used in the midsole for responsive cushioning. A open-holed mesh is featured on the upper for breathability throughout. A wavy sole covers for great traction, which is also to made to look like the waveforms of music, playing off Dame DOLLA’s music career.
Damian rocked the Core Black colorway of the Dame 4, which you can find here.
