LeBron James is known for his highlight blocks, but the chasedown artist got a taste of his own medicine on this play.
The Los Angeles Lakers started the play with an aggressive fast break led by Alex Caruso. An outlet pass was tossed to the King as he gained steam to the hoop. A James eurostep was all the time Donovan Mitchell needed to time the subsequent layup. Spida got up there and swatted the ball off the backboard. Enough force was applied that the rock ricocheted towards the three point line. The Utah Jazz then went on fast break of their own, leading to a Mitchell two-handed slam.
The sneaker Mitchell rocked this game was the adidas D.O.N. Issue #1. Donovan’s first signature shoe utilizes Bounce cushioning for a comfortable ride, and features a propulsion clip on the side for lateral support. A wider outsole further provides stability when landing after any of Mitchell’s acrobatic dunks.
Spida rocked the white, black, and gold colorway for this block which can be found HERE.
