Much of Giannis Antetokounmpo’s early career has been defined by his aggressive takes to the rim. His jump shot in contrast, has been much-maligned. Despite this weakness, the Greek Freak showed he can make a jumper in the right situation, as he did in the clutch in early 2017.
With the lights shining bright at Madison Square Garden, Giannis posted up with his Milwaukee Bucks down 1 against the Knicks. Instead of his typical drive to the rim, Antetokounmpo pulled a Kobe move of sorts by stepping back towards the free throw line and fading away on a jumper. Swish.
The Greek Freak rocked the low-top Kobe 10 with an engineered mesh upper during this game-winner. The heel Zoom Air unit on the shoe provided a responsive bounce, while the Lunarlon used in the forefoot gave off softer cushioning.
Antetokounmpo played in the white and black “Fundamentals” colorway, which you can find at StockX.
You can find the Nike Kobe 10 in other colorways at StockX, Stadium Goods, and Flight Club.
