Ja Morant Posterizes Aron Baynes in the Nike Kyrie Low 2 Shoes

One of the top plays in Ja Morant’s rookie season occurred in December 2019 against the Phoenix Suns.

The dunk of the 2019-20 season candidate started off with a pick into a switch with Aron Baynes. Morant salivated with the much slower Baynes guarding him and he immediately went to work. Ja backed up so he could gather steam then attacked right. A simple right-to-left crossover was all the Memphis Grizzlies guard needed to get past Baynes.

The sneakers Ja laced up for this game was the Nike Kyrie Low 2. Not to be confused with the Nike Kyrie 2, the Kyrie Low 2 was a part of Kyrie Irving’s non-signature sneaker line. Aron trailed only to get yammed on, with Morant elevating vertically over the Aussie, throwing down a vicious right-handed poster dunk.

This low-cut sneaker was designed with fast guard-play in mind. The shoe uses minimal cushioning and is low-to-the-ground for added court-feel. The Kyrie Low 2 does boast rectangular Zoom Air units in the heel and forefoot for extra bounce. The upper consists of a durable textile material, with plastic pieces used as heel reinforcement. These pieces are also utilized for the lace holes.

You can find the Nike Kyrie Low 2 at StockX, GOAT, and Flight Club.
