Big men block shots, but they also get caught slipping. James Harden caught a body in this case in a Western Conference matchup between the Utah Jazz and Houston Rockets.
The play started simply, with a quick pick from teammate Gerald Green forcing a switch. Moments later, Harden turned right towards the rim, easily zooming past Donovan Mitchell. Harden then beelined straight to the hoop getting up before Rudy Gobert could react for the block. The Beard then spiked a right handed dunk over the outstretched arm of Gobert, as if saying “you can’t block me.”
The sneakers the Beard laced up for this jam was the adidas Harden Vol. 3. The Boost cushioning provides a plush feeling that absorbs any landing. The shoe was made specifically for Harden with traction that rides up the midsole, a feature that helps James stabilize himself on step-backs.
Harden rocked an all-white version, which can be found here.
