Humor ensues when you freeze frame this popular Kevin Durant highlight.
*record scratch, camera pans in on Marcin Gortat’s face* “You’re probably wondering how I got here.”
Well, it all started with Kevin Durant iso’ed on Phoenix Suns Forward Michael Beasley up top. KD faked a three-point shot and hesitated, freezing Beasley in the process. Durant then beelined towards to rim and jumped in front of Marcin Gortat, who jumped an inch before immediately regretting it. Kevin slammed the ball in Gortat’s grill before Durant fell over from the contact. Upon replay, you can see Marcin just drop his head in defeat mid-dunk as he slowly realized his face was going to be on a poster.
Kevin Durant laced up the Nike KD 5 for this moment. Much like past signature styles, the fifth version features a synthetic Hyperfuse upper and forefoot Zoom Air. This made the shoes durable for outdoor use, with extra responsiveness for forefoot first steppers. Max Air in the heel was added for impact protection when you do land on that section.
Durant wore the “Away” colorway for this highlight, which you can find HERE.
You can find other colorways of the Nike KD 5 at StockX, GOAT, Flight Club, and Stadium Goods.
