Kevin Durant Turns Kevin Garnett on Crossover in the Nike KD 5 Shoes

The Big Ticket has always been known as a premier defender, but he never faced a skilled player like Kevin Durant before. a 2013 matchup between the Boston Celtics and the Oklahoma City Thunder saw KG and KD matchup 1-on-1. The results were not pretty for Kevin Garnett.

On this play, Durant advanced the ball up the court. Garnett got switched on Durant after a quick ball screen. As if salivating at the mismatch, Durant backed up and dribbled slowly and methodically. A quick between the legs dribble and hesitation forced Garnett to overplay Durant’s left side. Before you could blink, KD went left to right on the crossover. The Big Ticket reacted by turning to the rim. As if in embarrassment, Garnett never fully turned around as the Chesapeake Energy Arena oohed and aahed. KD then pulled up for the mid-range jumper, swishing the shot and backpedaling with swagger to his step.

Kevin Durant laced up the Nike KD 5 for this ankle-breaking moment. Much like past signature styles, the fifth version features a synthetic Hyperfuse upper and forefoot Zoom Air. This made the shoes durable for outdoor use, with extra responsiveness for forefoot first steppers. Max Air in the heel was added for impact protection when you do land on that section.

Durant wore the “Home” colorway for this highlight, which you can find HERE.

You can find other colorways of the Nike KD 5 at StockXGOATFlight Club, and Stadium Goods.
